Natural gas compression is critical to both hydrocarbon production and the energy transition. As the oil and gas industry seeks to decarbonize, a major source of avoidable emissions is the routine flaring of associated natural gas. Axip is committed to supporting the elimination of routine flaring and believes that enormous opportunities exist to optimize the compression services industry’s efficiency and safety while reducing its own carbon footprint. Outages in compression service can significantly increase the risk and carbon intensity of oil and gas production by increasing waste, unnecessary work and site exposure, and greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.
